Computer security

You must make sure that your computer is secure. Good antivirus software and a firewall should be the absolute minimum on every computer and server that you own.

There are excellent packages available to buy, such as Kaspersky Internet Security and Bullguard Internet Security, which also includes free online backup of your important files.

There are also many free alternatives that are often just as good. We recommend Avast! Home Edition or AVG Antivirus Free Edition. For a firewall, try Zone Alarm - be sure to look in Downloads for the free version.

If you have a wireless router, make 100% sure that it is secure. Don't use WEP encryption as that was cracked years ago. Use WPA or, preferably, WPA2.

Virus removal
